What Is a Management Services Organization?
A Management Services Organization (MSO) is a business entity that provides non-clinical administrative, marketing, and operational services to independent licensed medical practices. The MSO does not practice medicine, employ licensed clinical providers in a clinical capacity, or make clinical decisions.
How the Modern Men’s Health Model Works
Modern Men’s Health operates as an MSO. Through this model:
- The MSO owns and operates the modernmenshealth.com platform, provides patient acquisition services, brand infrastructure, and administrative support to affiliated medical practices.
- Affiliated licensed medical practices are independent entities owned and operated by licensed physicians. These practices employ or contract licensed healthcare providers who perform all clinical services, including consultations, laboratory orders, prescriptions, and treatment management.
- Clinical independence is preserved. Partner physicians retain full clinical authority and responsibility. The MSO does not direct, supervise, or interfere with clinical decision-making.
Who Provides Your Care
If you proceed through the waitlist process and engage with a clinical provider, you will be treated by a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare provider affiliated with an independent medical practice. Your provider-patient relationship is with that licensed practice, not with the MSO.
Your treating provider will disclose their identity, credentials, and the name of their practice at the time of your initial consultation.
Regulatory Compliance
The MSO structure is designed to comply with California’s corporate practice of medicine doctrine, which prohibits unlicensed business entities from employing physicians to practice medicine. All clinical services are provided by independently licensed medical professionals operating within the scope of their licensure.
